Hello, I'm Mery!
I’m a passionate trained homebaker, food blogger, recipe developer, food photographer behind the scenes of Just Tastylicious.
I live in the republic of Singapore, a beautiful sunny island and one of the greenest cities in the world, and it has been my home since 2005. I moved here after I married my loving Singaporean husband. We have a sweetie daughter and a charming godson.

I was born in Indonesia and raised in a full-of-love family, and I grew up enjoying delicious food every day as my mum is a good self-taught home cook. She can cook tasty food and bake delicious desserts. Now she already 70+ years old, and she still enjoys cooking daily and do baking at least 3-4 times a week for the family. She always said that home cook food is healthier as we can control the ingredients and make it in a healthy way. Did I grow up as a lucky child? Yes, absolutely I did!
Our top 3 best-seller cookie recipes are passed down from my mum (Pineapple Tarts, Emping Cookies and Peanut Butter Walnut Cookies). Thank you to my BEST mum.
Having grown up in a such loving family with great food, I strongly believe that food not only brings people together but also gives so much joy and happiness to people. I feel so grateful that I inherited my mum’s talent in food-making. Baking and cooking are what I'm passionate in, and I can’t imagine it ever changing for me. I enjoy working with the ingredients and the process of preparing and experimenting new recipes.

Ever since I graduated from university, I worked in accounting field for approximately 18 years. I never imagined that I’d have the opportunity to step out from my comfort zone and bravely pursue my dreams to be a passionate baker. It’s never too late to pursue your dreams. Passion and determination make dreams come true (NEVER GIVING UP IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS!).
From a few years ago and even to this day, I have received many encouragements from my family and friends to share my bakes. Thus, 'JUST TASTYLICIOUS' was born in October 2020 🌈❤️. I was a self-taught home baker during that time. I sell my homemade handcrafted baked goods in a small scale through social media, like Instagram and Facebook.
Since then, I have been receiving numerous good reviews from my Valued Customers and local Food Bloggers for my baked goods (you can view their reviews from our Instagram account "IG Story Highlight-Review and IG tagged folder’). It gives me so much encouragement and satisfaction to see my bakes bring joy and happiness to so many people.
To constantly upgrade my baking skills, “Never Stop Learning” is my mindset to move forward. I took a full 5-months baking course of Higher Certificate in Pastry and Baking from March to August 2022 in SHATEC (The International Hotel and Tourism School), Singapore. SHATEC provides training programmes in Hospitality & Tourism, Culinary and Pastry & Baking. From this established and professional school training programmes, I picked up the skills of fundamentals and principles of baking which further helped my ability to bake better desserts and develop more tasty and delicious recipes.

Near the end of March 2023, I was asking myself (“What else can I do in order to better serve my Valued Customers and Followers?”). Since then, I have dedicated significant effort to do research and development. During the past 3 years untill current, I am working as a full-time homebaker. Beside my hobby in baking and cooking, I also have passion in developing new recipes, food photography and videography. I noticed that many food enthusiasts not only like enjoying the food but they also have passion in baking and cooking as the same hobby as me. Hence, this food blog is born in October 2023 🌈❤️
I would like to use this blog to document and share all my favourite easy and approachable tantalizing recipes with any food enthusiast from all over the world. Our well-tried recipes come with easy step-by-step instructions, tutorial with photos and helpful tips. With our tasty and delicious recipes, I hope I can inspire and motivate you to dive into a fun and enjoyable food making journey and help you find more confident to start baking and cooking from scratch, creating desserts and meals that bring joy for yourself and your loved ones.
Last but not least, I would like to thank my soulmate (my husband). I couldn’t imagine without his unconditional support and always by my side, I might have given up in pursuing my dreams. In my entrepreneurship journey, I am feeling grateful to have a partner like him, making this journey extraordinary meaningful.
Without each and every one support (family, friends, customers, followers and readers), I’m certainly not able to achieve this milestone to launch my food blog. Now JUST TASTYLICIOUS is a home-based bakery based in Singapore and a food blog sharing recipes perfect for home bakers and home cooks at any skill level.
